Daffodil International University is going to host three day long International Conference on “Tertiary Education: Realities & Challenges” from January 19-21, 2013 at University Auditorium. To make the conference a truly international collaborative event, 10 keynote speakers have been invited from abroad to share their experiences with the Bangladeshi educationists. These include Sir John Daniel from UK, Professor Dr. Calvin Kalman from Canada, Professor Dr. Abtar Kaur, Dr. Ranjit Singh Malhi, Dr. Faridah Ibrahim and Professor Dr. Rozhan Idrus from Malaysia, Professor Dr. William W. Hoback from USA, Professor Dr. R. P. Mohanty, Professor Dr. Satyendra Patnaik and Professor Dr. Shriram Raghunathan from India. We look forward to learning from their experiences in delivering tertiary education.

Mr Nurul Islam Nahid, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Education, Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh will inaugurate the conference as the Chief Guest. Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University and President Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be present as the special guests. The welcome address will be given by the Conference Convener, Emeritus Professor Aminul Islam and a speech will be delivered by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Lutfar Rahman. Former President and CEO of Commonwealth of Learning Sir John Daniel will deliver the conference keynote, “Turbulent Times in Tertiary Education: Lessons for Bangladesh.”
In the total 4 working sessions a total of 12 keynote addresses and 8 conference papers will be presented. A total of 400 teachers of different public and private universities will participate in the conference. The conference will be closed by Professor Atful Hye Shibly, Ph.D., Member, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh.
