A presentation on Daffodil International University Participation in Global Social Business Summit 2012 organized by the Social Business Cell and Social Business Students Forum of Daffodil International University was held today on November 17, 2012 at DIU Auditorium. Prof. Dr. Aminul Islam, Founder Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor of Daffodil International University was present on the occasion as the chief guest. The function was also addressed by Professor Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Prof. Dr. Md. Zakir Hossain, Director (Studies) and Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Student Affairs). Masud Ibne Rahman, Head of Social Business Cell of Daffodil International University delivered the keynote presentation highlighting the summit and role played by Daffodil International University as well as shared the experience of the summit among the members of Social Business Cell.
Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, Director Student Affairs gave the opening speech. Prof. Rafiqul Islam Dean Faculty of Business and Economics defined different type of social business and featured the present status of the Research Centre, FBE. Prof Zakir Hossain, Faculty of Business and Economics put high expectation to the students of Social Business Student forum and requested the authority to support the endevour. . Emeritus Prof Dr. Aminul Islam addressed the problems of the society and put expectation that social business can solve those problems. He also added that the students and teachers should come forward in social business research. The program was ended with the thanks giving of Mr. Kazi Mesbahur Rahman, President of Social Business Students Forum.
Mr. Masud Ibn Rahman, Head of Social Business Cell represented DIU on the Summit as the Garmeen Delegate of Nobel Laurette Dr. Muhammad Yunus. Mr. Rahman who is also an Academic Advisor to the Yunus Center had a long presentation on the Social Business Venture of Daffodil International University as well as his participant at in the summit. He also attended the Academic Meeting on 7 to 12 Nov 2012 at MODULE University at Vienna, Austria. He moderated the Academic Focus Group “A” on 8 Nov and did a huge branding for Daffodil International University.
Daffodil International University had a vibrant role in Global Social Business Summit 2012 held from November 7-10 2012 in Vienna, Austria. Celebrities, political leaders, business giants, academicians and young Challengers came together in the program from almost every corner of the world participated in this summit. A team from Daffodil International University headed by Masud Ibne Rahman, Head of Social Business Cell of Daffodil International University took part in the summit.
