To Extend Research Capacity Daffodil International University

Under the auspices of International Association of Universities (IAU), Daffodil International University (DIU) has been awarded a competitive grant, LEADHER project reference P02_12_R, for building research capacity at Master's level ultimately leading to developing proposals for doing PhD. Under this project a five member team visited Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for attending a two-week "Research Capacity Building" workshop from November 23 to October 6, 2012. At the end of the workshop, the team was invited to share workshop experiences with the Vice Chancellor of USM Professor Dato Omar Osman. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of DIU attended this special meeting with the V ice Chancellor of USM. Professor Osman encouraged that research should be done in areas that promote "nation building activities". He suggested that a Memorandum of Agreement be drawn up to promote research activities between the two universities.
