Daffodil International University Air Rover Unit organized a three day long ‘2nd Oath Taking Camp’ for newly enrolled rovers at University Permanent Campus at Ashulia from October 18-20, 2012. The camp included training, Oath Taking Ceremony and Grand Camp Fire. It may be mentioned that this is for the first time in the history of Private Universities of Bangladesh to introduce Rover Movement at Daffodil International University.

Presided over by Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University Group Captain Syed Shakil Ali, Commissioner, Bangladesh Scouts (Air Region)  was present on the occasion as the chief guest. Emeritus Professor of Daffodil International University Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Mr. Md. Amimul Ehsan Parvez, Deputy National Commissioner (Training) and Md. Zamal Hossain, Deputy National Commissioner (Program) were present on the occasion as the special guests. The function was also addressed by Prof. Dr. S.M. Mahabubul Haque Majumder, Acting Vice Chancellor and Dean, FSIT and Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Registrar, DIU.

Addressing as the chief guest Group Captain Syed Shakil Ali said, Oath taking camp is very important and historical event for a Scout which inspire him to engage himself in scouting through self rectification of mind. He urged the rovers to maintain and follow the rules and ideas of Baden Powell to create a beautiful world for all. He appreciated the recent activities done by the Rovers of Daffodil International University and urged to keep up the speed. He also said, introducing Rover Movement at the university, Daffodil International University has set an example to be followed by other private universities.

In the presidential address Md. Sabur Khan Said, Training and Oath Taking Camp helps the rover to increase interaction among them, gain experience and focus themselves to perform well in professional life and also to get exposure. He urged the rovers to utilize the gained experience and knowledge of this training to build a bright future and successful career. He urged them to boost up the speed and also to encourage their friends and involve them in Scout Movement to proudly represent them in future job market. He also said, Scouting can play a vital role in developing career and building character of a student though which students can practice of becoming a successful leader and contribute a lot to the society.
