‘Talk on - The Role of Teachers and Students in Social Business’ held at
Daffodil International University
Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor Daffodil International University and other distinguished guests at the Talk on -The Role of Teachers and Students in Social Business held at Daffodil International University
To exchange the concept and ideas of Social Business to Teachers and Students, Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a program on ‘Talk on- Social Business: The Role of Teachers and Students’ at DIU auditorium on 24th July 2012. The program was organized by Social Business Cell, Faculty of Business and Economics Research Centre, Daffodil International University.
Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU, inaugurated the program as the chief guest while Ms. Rumana Parven, Academic Advisor, Yunus Centre, Prof. Dr. Aminul Islam, Emeritus Professor of DIU, Mr. Labib Tarokder, Asst. Program Officer, Yunus Centre, were present as special guests.
Addressing as the chief guest Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University said, Social Business is a process to remove extreme poverty and now a days the concept has been gaining momentum all over the world. He also said that Daffodil International University is always pioneer to hold so many seminar and discussion program to give students more information on the purpose and process of social business.
The program was presided over by Prof. Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business of Economics, DIU. Emeritus professor Dr. Aminul Islam delivered the welcome address and Mr. Masud Ibn Rahman, Head of Social Business Cell, Faculty of Business and Economics Research Centre, exhibited a lots of information about Social Business through multimedia projector.
The program was divided into two sessions; one was for teachers and another was for students. In teachers’ session, Mr. Mohammad Shakhawat Hossain, Head of BRE, DIU, and Mr. Masum Iqbal, Head of BBA were given speech on social business and a large number of students also took part in students’ session and the speakers clearly pointed out various aspects of social business.
