DIU Organized Seminar On

“Role of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in developing a nation”

To mark the 1st Anniversary of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Daffodil International University a seminar was organized on “Role of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in developing a nation” on December 23, 2010 at DIU Auditorium.

Presided over by Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University Engr. Professor Dr. S. M. Nazrul Islam,Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology( BUET) & President, Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh was present in the seminar as  the chief guest. Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil International University, Engr. Md. Khizir Khan, Chairman, North West Power Generation Company Limited (NWPGCL) & Former Chairman, Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), Engr. Md. Monwar Hossain, Managing Director, Bangladesh Sub Marine Cable Company Ltd.( BSCCL) and Professor Dr. Lutfar Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology (FSIT) were present   as the special guests. Professor A. M. Rezaul Karim Talukder, Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering delivered the address of Welcome.

Addressing as the chief guest Engr. Professor Dr. S. M. Nazrul Islam said, the Electrical and Electronics Engineers can play the key role to implement present government’s dream Digital Bangladesh and vision 2021. Encouraging the students in this profession he said, engineering is now not a single profession rather it is a multi disciplinary profession. He also said, the more the infusion between theoretical and practical the more the country will be developed. He urged the students to be more innovative Competent, and Quality Engineers.

Highlighting the role of the Father of the nation towards Engineers he said, Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman first realized that only technology can develop a country and for this he stressed over the technical education and give highest priority to Technical edication which no other government gave yet today.

Later the students of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering staged a colourful cultural program.
