Adviser to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Prof. Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar said that entrepreneurship is needed for the development of the country. He said, we encourage entrepreneurs. We need entrepreneurs at various levels, public and private.
He also said, we need to create an environment to keep them in the country because entrepreneurship is needed for the development of the country. Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy said, most of the entrepreneurs of our country are less educated. Those who are highly educated are mostly job oriented. In our education system we can think of nothing but jobs. This is our biggest problem. The same applies to our primary education. He said, what has come along with our curriculum gives us that job-based education. What we have neglected is that the previous curriculum had some positive aspects. Such topics as mastering by practical work, working together were there but we have discarded them because of our mental inertia. Parents think our sons and daughters will do what we have done.
The aim is to get good marks in the kids just taking the exam. He also said that the specific thing about humans is that their imaginations are innovative. I think our curriculum should be one where people are encouraged to think freely, where innovative thinking is encouraged. This work will be easy for the government if everyone in the society is aware of this and participate, he added.
