Dr. Md. Sabur Khan on the inauguration stage of the 17th AUAP General Conference alongside other distinguished guests. As the President of the organization, he also delivered the opening speech on this occasion.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, the current President of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) and Founder & Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University (DIU), delivered the opening speech at the 17th AUAP General Conference. This historic event brought together academic leaders, policymakers, and educators from around the globe, focusing on fostering collaboration among universities for the advancement of higher education.

Held from November 18-20, 2024, at Jagran Lakecity University (JLU) in Bhopal, India, the conference was themed "The Paradigm Shift in Higher Education: Values of Life." The event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, India, who praised AUAP’s efforts to enhance international collaboration in higher education. The Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Rajendra Shukla, was also present as a special guest.

In his opening speech, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan expressed his gratitude to the participating delegates and highlighted AUAP’s commitment for fostering global collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in higher education. He emphasized the importance of setting a collective vision for the future and ensuring that educational institutions provide students with the necessary values and skills to make meaningful contributions to social and economic growth. Dr. Khan also urged policymakers to focus more on preparing students to play a significant role in driving societal and economic development.

Other notable speakers at the event included Mr. Hari Mohan Gupta, Founder and Chancellor of Jagran Lakecity University and First Vice President of AUAP; Dr. Andy Pusca, President of Danubius University, Romania, and Second Vice President of AUAP; and Professor Dr. Anoop Swarup, Secretary-General of AUAP.
