Daffodil International University (DIU), a renowned private institution, recently hosted the ‘4th International Robo Tech Olympiad 2024’ with participation from 134 teams representing 55 educational institutions from across the country. Not only university students but also young school and college students showcasing their skills and innovative ideas through various modern robotics and technology-based competitions throughout the day in the event.
The competition was held on October 19 (Saturday) at Daffodil Smart City in Birulia, Savar under the initiative of the university's Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Robo Tech Valley. Besides, CodeMarshal IT System Limited and Water Aid as sponsors, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) Computer Society as technical sponsors and Daffodil Robotics as strategic partners cooperated in this event.
This year the competition was held in a total of 6 categories. Among them, the young technology lovers of the country showcased their talent and desire by participating in Robo Soccer, Project Exhibition, Line Following Robot Competition, Idea Presentation, Quiz Competition and Drone Challenge. Besides, technical sessions and project presentations are also arranged for the students of various institutions in this event. Apart from this, all the winners of the entire competition are awarded 3 Lakhs BDT.
Dean of Academic Affairs of DIU, Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal said, ‘this young generation of the country will gradually move towards technology, which will also bring us racial progress. Our educational programs must consider their thoughtfulness and technical excellence. Everyone will get an idea about the future education and technology of the country through this event.’
Co-organizer Robo Tech Valley believes that these young participants will use their innovative abilities to face real challenges and come up with solutions, which will open a new door for the future of Bangladesh. Chairman of the institution, Ahsan Aqib, said that such an initiative will further expand the country's education and technology as well as make it open to people of all ages. The gathering of technology lovers of all ages through this event at Daffodil International University is extraordinary.
In this event, the country's famous scientist, researcher and inventor of eco-friendly golden bag- Dr. Mobarak Hossain Khan, Program Manager of Universal Access Program of Water Aid Bangladesh- Mr. Babul Mia, Chair of IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter- Professor Dr. Ahsan Habib Tareq, Dean of Science and Information Technology of DIU- Syed Akhtar Hossain, Head of CSE Department- Professor Dr. Sheak Rashed Haider Noori, Associate Head of CSE Department and Professor- Dr. S M Aminul Haque along with other teachers, students and officials of Robo Tech Valley were present.
