Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated the orientation program for the students of Fall Semester 2024 today on July 11, 2024 at Shawdhinata Sommelon Kendro of the university at Daffodil Smart City, Dhaka with the theme of “Students Lead University”. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Professor Dr. S. M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) of Daffodil International University and Mr. Rizwan Bin Farouq , Honorary Secretary, Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Foundation, Bangladesh addressed welcoming the newly enrolled students. 4 successful Alumni of the university were invited in the orientation to wish and inspire the freshers. Addressing towards the students Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, Daffodil International University is working to build the students in such a way so that they can contribute to build Smart Bangladesh and the main focus of the university is to build technology and sports oriented graduates and create new entrepreneurs, he added. He also said, our dream is to uphold the university among internationally renowned top ranked universities and accordingly university authority is working tirelessly. He urged the newly enrolled students to make the best use of the resources provided by the university and make them fit to face the challenges of the 21 st century and requested guardians to keep frequent communication with the university authority.
While addressing at the orientation program Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) Professor Dr. S M Haque Mazumder said towards the parents and guardians, we have accepted with due responsibility and sincerity that you have chosen Daffodil International University for your children's higher education from the place of hope and trust. Keeping this trust and faith intact, providing humane and institutional education to the newcomers is now our prime concern.
The fresher’s roam around the entire campus in a joyful atmosphere since morning. In their joy, the green campus of Daffodil Smart City is stirred with a new color, the taste of innovation. In the Orientation Program Fall-2024 ceremony, the fresher’s started their university life in a joyful atmosphere with singing and dancing.
At the beginning of the orientation, the senior assistant director of student affairs. Amit Chakraborty Choton encouraged the fresher’s to conduct the program and exchanged ideas with the fresher’s about the university life and also imparted an idea about the various institutional rules and regulation of the university. The guests also responded by addressing the fresher’s and giving away prizes to the winners of the 'Learn and Win' quiz competition. The orientation program was jointly conducted by Adnan Zahan Romeo, a student from the Department of Software Engineering and Fatema Tuz Jannat, a student from the Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering.
