His Excellency Park Young Sik Ambassador of Korea of Bangladesh speaks at the seminar on "Contemporary Korea: Democracy, Economy Peace and Security" held at Daffodil International University.

His Excellency Park Young Sik Ambassador of Korea of Bangladesh visited Daffodil International University (DIU) today on March 28, 2024 at Birulia, Savar Dhaka. He spoke as the Chief Guest at a seminar titled "Contemporary Korea: Democracy, Economy Peace and Security" under the ‘Ambassador O’clock’ program.

The ambassador praised the activities of DIU for its exclusive academic partnerships with universities in Korea and for having a beautiful green campus. In his speech, H.E. Park Young Sik said that Bangladesh-Korea relations reach new heights in multilateral aspects and are moving forward economically after the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2010.

 H.E. Park Young Sik, emphasized historical aspects of Korea under the employment Permit System, supporting the vocational Training centers and strengthening the capacity of the trainers and research opportunities, and outlined the scope for notable migrant destination for Bangladeshi workers. He thanked DIU and its leadership for collaborating with around 25 universities and organizations in Korea for a long time, as DIU exchanges hundreds of students and academicians with Korean universities each year. He also mentioned that we are interested in academic exchanges and technical collaborations at the university level in both countries.

 Professor Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice-Chancellor, shared his speech, where Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family, Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director, International Affairs, Dr. Tanvir Abir, Director, Career Development Center and Syed Raihan-Ul-Islam, Deputy Director of International Affairs along with faculty members, officials, alumni, and students of Daffodil International University, also participated in the seminar. Beside the seminar, a meeting was held with DIU top management, led by the Vice-Chancellor of DIU, Prof. M. Lutfar Rahman, Ph.d. where the Ambassador expressed his support to initiate Korean Language & Study Institute, Skill Development Institute, scholarships, academic connects etc with DIU in the coming days.

 Notably, ‘Ambassador O’clock’ is a signature event of DIU that was created to welcome honorable ambassadors and high commissioners to analyze the past and contemporary facets of relations between Bangladesh and respective countries in order to explore future dimensions of relations, share possibilities, create a link between the universities of both countries, and so on.
