Mr. Mustafa Jabbar, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Divisions of Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of day long summit on “ Empowering Workforce for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR): A Case Study for Employment in Bangladesh as the chief guest organized by Career Development Center of Daffodil International University (DIU) in association with Aspire to Innovate (a2i) of ICT Division.
Aiming at building a future-ready workforce in Bangladesh The Career Development Center of Daffodil International University (DIU) in association with Aspire to Innovate (a2i) of ICT Division organized a day-long summit today on May 10th 2023 on “ Empowering Workforce for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR): A Case Study for Employment in Bangladesh”. Mr. Mustafa Jabbar, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Divisions, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh inaugurated the summit as the chief guest. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman, of Daffodil International University was present as the guest of honor. The inaugural session was addressed by Professor Dr. M. M lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr. Dewan Md. Humayub Kabir,Project Director Aspire to Innovate (a2i) of ICT Division, Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Group CEO, Daffodil Family, Prof. Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director, Student Affairs and Dr. Tanvir Fittir Amir, Director, Career Development Center.
After inauguration four sessions on “Building a Future-Ready Workforce for Bangladesh: Key 4IR Skills for ICT”, “Building a Future-Ready Workforce for Bangladesh: Key 4IR Skills for Business Professionals”, “Innovative Approaches to Developing 4IR Skills for Food Safety and Agriculture Sectors in Bangladesh” and “Adapting to the Fourth Industrial Revolution: Navigating the Changing Landscape of Textiles and RMG Jobs in Bangladesh” were held in the day long summit. .
These sessions brought together leading experts from industry and academia to explore the latest trends and best practices in developing key 4IR skills for ICT and business professionals, as well as innovative approaches to developing 4IR skills in the food safety and agriculture sectors and Textiles and RMG sectors.
Addressing as the chief guest Mustafa Jobbar said, Bangladesh's greatest strength is its human resources. Smart people are needed to build a smart Bangladesh announced by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Our young generation especially our students are our golden people without whom Digital Bangladesh would not have happened or it is not possible to build Smart Bangladesh in the future. The aim of the present government is to make those artisans of Sonar Bengal qualified. He said, the infrastructure development required for the fourth industrial revolution or the fifth industrial revolution has already been made. Bangladesh 98% area has been brought under 4GB. 5GB has been launched in Bangladesh in 2021. All economic zones of the country have been brought under 5GB. He called upon the students of the universities to become proficient in digital skills institutionally and said that there is no need to live in this world by becoming a computer scientist, the opportunity to become a scientist will be created from the user. The minister expressed optimism that the fourth industrial revolution or the fifth industrial revolution will not be stopped if the new generation can be made proficient in digital skills.
The founder and chairman of Daffodil International University Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, all the technologies and resources are now at our fingertips, the responsibilities of the students is to integrate the technologies and bring them into a beautiful platform. He urged the students to become leaders or entrepreneurs instead of tenants or users. And becoming a leader will only be possible when students can use the available resources to create an excellent solution. He urged to enrich the career by proper use of data and resources.
