Spekers have underlined the need of involvement of quality Pharmacy Graduates in marketing of Pharmaceutical industry is very important in Bangladesh now a days as the sector is now one of the fastest growing sector. Local pharmaceutical industries meet up the 99% of the total requirement of the country, they added. They put emphasis on not only to produce the drugs but also to monitor its proper application and output feedback.

They made these observations in a Seminar on “Pharmacists in Pharmaceutical Marketing: Scope & Hope” held today (May 05, 2012) at DIU Auditorium organized by the Department of Pharmacy of Daffodil International University. Presided over by Professor Dr. Abu Shara Shamsur Rouf, the Keynote paper was presented by Mohammod Shafiqul Islam, General Manager, Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd. The seminar was also addressed by Dr. Zakia Sultana Shathi, Head, Department of Pharmacy.

Addressing as the keynote speaker Mr. Mohammod Shafiqul Islam, General Manager, Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd. mentioned that  country’s pharmaceuticals industry is upsized and he point out some statistical data showing uptrend of the pharmaceutical industry for the last three decades. He stressed on development of skills and professional relationship. He urged the students to be responsible while preparing medicine and develop skills to understand marketing trend. The more you have expanded your wisdom, the better will be your career, he added. Taposhey Rabeya-a student of the department of Pharmacy conducted the program.
