4-day International Conference titled ‘DaffodilIMUN-2020’ from January 2-5 ended on January 5, 2020 at Shawdhinata Milonayoton of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized by Daffodil International University Model United Nations Association (DIUMUNA), a proficient club of Daffodil International University. Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Associate Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Science of DIU was present at the closing program as the guest of honor. Beside this Mr. Rokonuzzaman Sajal, Representative of UNFPA, Mr. Abdul Barique, Proprietor of Rajbari Publishers, Mr. Rafi Al Mahmud, Convener of DaffodilIMUN-2020 were also present at the closing program.
The theme of the conference was “Empowerment, Good Governance and Sustainable Development through Youth Partnership 2030”. More than 350 delegates from national and international level attended this conference. United Nations, Bangladesh was the “Associated partner” and UN Information Center, Dhaka was the “Knowledge Partner” and Daffodil International School and Daffodil International College were the organizing partner of DaffodilIMUN 2020.
In the closing program Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab distributed prizes among 24 participant in three category of Best delegates, Outstanding delegates and Special mention. In the meantime she said that Model United Nations is a best platform to exploring leadership of young students. This platform is working on young leadership all around the word. Bangladeshi student can explore their leadership skill through this platform. She express hope.
The 4 days of Conference was included with representation of different countries and practicing diplomacy along with the proceedings of UN.Hence this conference was one of the largest Residential Model UN conferences of the country.
