Mr. Mahmud Hasan, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Professor Dr. S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University along with the participants at the inauguration ceremony of 4-day International Conference titled ‘DaffodilIMUN-2020’ begin today at Daffodil International University.
4-day International Conference titled ‘DaffodilIMUN-2020’ from January 2-5 begins today on January 2, 2020 at Shawdhinata Milonayoton at permanent campus of Daffodil International University (DIU) at Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka. Mr. Mahmud Hasan, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change inaugurated the conference as the chief guest today at Swadhinota Milonayoton of the university. Professor Dr. S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor of DIU was present as the guest of honor. Mr. Md. Fuad Hossain Sarker, Head, Department of Development Studies was present as the special guest. Mr. Rafi Al Mahmud, Convener of DaffodilIMUN-2020 and Mr, Anik Pramanik, Deputy Sectary of DaffodilIMUN-2020 were also present at the inaugural program.
The theme of the conference is “Empowering Good Governance & amp;Sustainable Development through Youth Partnership 2030”. More than 350delegates from national and international level attend this conference. UnitedNations, Bangladesh is the “Associated partner” and UN Information Center,Dhaka is the “Knowledge Partner” and Daffodil International School and DaffodilInternational College are the organizing partner of DaffodilIMUN 2020.
While addressing as the chief guest Mr. Mahmud Hasan said that youth are the future of the country. Bangladesh is going forward through these youth’s excellent activities. In the meantime he explained about SDG and said, SDG means knowledge, goodness and development.
Mr. Mahmud Hasan thanked the organizationer of Daffodil International University Model United Nations Association (DIUMUNA) for arranging this conference. He expressed hope that young leadership will be explored through this kind of conference.
Professor Dr. S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder said that Daffodil International University always takes initiative to create young leaders. No doubt that many young leaders will be flourishing through this conference. In the meantime he urged the students gain knowledge to be responsible to keep the world safe.
The 4 days of Conference includes with representation of different countries and practicing diplomacy along with the proceedings of UN. Hence this conference is one of the largest Residential Model UN conferences of the country.
