Daffodil International University (DIU) obtained 2nd position among private universities in Bangladesh in scientific research paper publications in 2019. Scientific Bangladesh, a research magazine of Bangladesh analyzed the research publications indexed in Scopus Database and published this research ranking of the universities. Daffodil International University has also obtained 8th position among all the public and private universities and research organizations in Bangladesh. Besides Mr. Bikash Kumar Paul, a Faculty member of the Department of Software Engineering of DIU also achieved a position in the list of top ten researchers in Bangladesh as per number of Scopus publications in the year of 2019.
It may be mentioned that Scientific Bangladesh has been publishing this ranking from 2012 having data from Scopus database Only two private universities achieved their positions in the list of Top Ten universities of Bangladesh in 2019 in this ranking. Another ranked university is BRAC University. According to the UGC, there are 105 private and 45 public universities are currently functioning in Bangladesh.
