“Show your English talents, go for greater challenge” – with this slogan the Final Found of the Daffodil English Olympics 2019, organized by the Department of English, was held on 13 December 2019 at the Milanayatan 71 of Daffodil International University for inspiring students to learn and apply their English skills for a brighter future. More than 500 students from different schools and colleges all over the country participated in an Online Selection Round and the selected 50 students from each category (Senior and Junior) took part in the FinalRound. All the selected contestants took part in the Final Round along with a good number of guardians and friends. It turned out to be a festive occasion for all. In the Final Round, a Preliminary Test on writing and grammar was held at the beginning. Top 10 from each category were selected for Oral Presentation. Selected contestants gave their oral presentations on topics chosen by lottery. Neutral judges from outside DIU assessed the marks of Oral Presentation. On the basis of the marks given by the judges, the Champion, runner-ups and top ten from each category were selected who were given prizes in the in the Prize Giving Ceremony in second part of the daylong program.

Professor Dr. Arifa Rahman, Professor of IML, University of Dhaka, graced the Prize Giving Ceremony as the Chief Guest. Mr. Mosharraf Khan, Country Manager of IDP Education Bangladesh Ltd, was present as the Special Guest. Professor Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor of DIU, presided over the session as the Chair. The Convener of the Daffodil English Olympics 2019 and the Head of the Department of English Md. Rakibul Hasan Khan as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Professor AMM Hamidur Rahman were also present in the occasion along with all the faculty members of the Department of English.
