A partial view of the Discussion Meeting of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) with SME Entrepreneurs

 

A discussion meeting of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) with SME Entrepreneurs was held on Monday, 5 August, 2019 at Conference room of SME Foundation. Mr. SM Shaheen Anwar, Deputy Managing Director, SME Foundation was present as chief guest in meeting. The meeting was presided over by Professor Dr. M. Shamsul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Daffodil International University (DIU).
At the beginning, the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of SME Foundation Mr. SM Shaheen Anwar admired Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, DIU for coming forward in automation for productivity increase of SME industries in Bangladesh. Afterward, Prof. M Shamsul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering welcomed the discussant of the meeting and gave an overview on benefit of implementation of Web based Accounting and Energy Audit in SME industries. He informed that Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering will facilitates the services to SME industries on free of cost and expressed special thanks to Mr. Tanvir Faisal, Deputy Manager, SME Foundation for his co-operation on behalf of SME Foundation. Later, two separate presentation was given on cloud based accounting software and cost savings due to proper maintenance of energy system for SME industries with demonstration respectively. Representatives of Associations gave their observations as well as recommendations based upon presentations. Mr. Md. Masum Talukder, Consultant, BEIOA expressed his concern about language of software in day to day transactions for entrepreneurs. Also, he advised to incorporate Tally feature into software for making it more appropriate for small entrepreneurs.  Mr. Md. Abdul Matin, Assistant Secretary, BAPA appreciated the initiative and said that it will enable the SME entrepreneurs to update their factory for compliance issues.  Ms. Farzana Khan, General Manager, SME Foundation recommended to gain confidence of entrepreneurs initially.
