A workshop on the "Use of Scopus and ScienceDirect, and Bibliographic Management System Mendeley for Research and Publications" was held on 7 July, 2019 at the Banquet Hall of Daffodil International University (DIU). Division of Research, Daffodil International University organized the workshop as understanding Elsevier e-resources and Mendeley for research and publications is very important for DIU researchers as Scopus publications and their citation have positive impact on various world university rankings.
Professor Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, (Acting Vice Chancellor) Pro Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University chaired the entire program. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Vishal Gupta, Consultant, Elsevier’s South Asian Team, New Delhi, India while Professor Dr. Md. Kabirul Islam, Director, Division of Research, DIU conducted the workshop.

Mr. Gupta in his deliberation clearly explained the possible ways of utilizing and exploring the Scopus, ScienceDirect and Mendeley database for research publications, citations, sources of funding, etc. He also mentioned the role of Scopus database as it helps to find research collaborators and research trends. A number of faculty members took part in the question and answer session where they clearly got their answers related to the queries. About one hundred faculty members and researchers of DIU were present at the workshop.

Mahbub Ul HaqueMajumder,(Acting Vice Chancellor), DIU thanked Mr. Gupta for his visit to DIU and giving a nice and informative presentation on proper use of Scopus, Science Direct and Mendeley database for DIU faculty members which will surely have positive impact on total Scopus publications as well as their citations. He also thanked Director, Division of Research for organizing such a timely and effective workshop at DIU.
