Dr. Kasim from Somalia (Doctor in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University) and Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director of International Affairs, DIU along with the Somalian students at the Independence Day of Somalia celebration program.

The students from Somalia studying in Bangladesh observed the Independence Day of Somalia on Monday at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University (DIU). Dr. Kasim from Somalia (Doctor in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University) was present at program as the chief guest while Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director of International Affairs, DIU was present as the special guest. Hosted by Daffodil International Universality, the program also addressed by Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director, Students Affaires of DIU and Mr. Maruf Choudhury, Assistant Registrar, DIU.
Around 300 Somalian students from all over Bangladesh participated in the program and celebrated the program by their national anthem, speech and few their native cultural program.
While addressing as the chief guest Dr. Kasim said that he is feeling proud to attend this program. All of Somalian students are here and that make him pleaser. He gave Daffodil International University to host this program. Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain said that independence means identity. Independence means social security and so others. This young generation of Somalia will make Somalia greater.
It may note that The Independence Day of Somalia is a national holiday observed annually in Somalia on 1st July. The date celebrates the unification of the Trust Territory of Somalia (the former Italian Somalia) and the State of Somalia (the former British Somaliland) on July 1, 1960, which formed the The Federal Republic of Somalia.
The students from Somalia those who are studying in Bangladesh, celebrate the day yearly. Daffodil International Universality hosts this program this year and DIU family is happy to celebrate this day with all the student from Somalia.
