Mr. Munir Hasan, General Secretary, Bangladesh Math Olympiad Committee handing over the champion trophy to Tanima Hossain,  a student of CSE department who became champion in ‘DIU Inter-departmental Math Olympiad-2019’organized by Department of General Educational Development (GED).

Department of General Educational Development (GED) of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized ‘DIU Inter-departmental Math Olympiad-2019’ on 25 June 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Mr. Munir Hasan, General Secretary, Bangladesh Math Olympiad Committee distributed prizes among 25 winners in the prize giving ceremony as the chief guest. Tanima Hossain,  a student of CSE department became champion in the competition while Sharnali Paul Chaity and Md. Sazzad Hossain, both are the student of CSE became 1st runner up and 2nd runner up respectively.

Presided over by Professor Dr. S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Acting Vice Chancellor, DIU, the program also addressed by Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Head, Department of GED, Dr. Bimal Chandra Das, Associate Professor and Convener of DIU Inter-departmental Math Olympiad-2019 committee, Dr. Md. Jashim Uddin, Associate Professor, Mr. Shahriar Khan and Ms. Arifa Akther, senior lecturer, department of GED .
While addressing as the chief guest Mr. Munir Hasan said that a technological transformation is going on all around the world. Most of the developed countries are now recruiting mathematicians in banking jobs. The most valuable job at present in the world is data analyst. And no doubt that mathematicians are best in data analysis, he added. He  thanked to Daffodil International University for arranging Inter-departmental Math Olympiad. He hoped that Daffodil University’s students will win medal in forthcoming International Olympiad.
Mr. Munir Hasan also said that Bangladeshi students are doing very well in International Math Olympiad. To continue this result our educational institutes should arrange math Olympiad in regular basis.
