To mark the International Day of Family, Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a ‘Discussion Session on Commemoration of International Day of Family’ today on 23 May 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Ms. Taskira Khayer, Chairperson, Worldwide Family Love Movement, Mr. Mohammad Abu Sadeque, Former Director, Housing & Building Research Institute, Professor Nazma Begum, Member, Worldwide Family Love Movement and Ms. Tandra Barua, Secretary General, Gandhi Global Family, Bangladesh Chapter present at the program as discussant. The program presided over by Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU and the program conducted by Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Associate Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, DIU.
International Day of Familyis marking globally in every year on 15th May all around the world. This year, like other countries, World Wide Family Love Movement has also observed the day in Bangladesh. Today Daffodil International University has organized a discussion session to observe the day.
While addressing, Taskira Khayer said that family culture has been fallen in danger all over the world. In one hand, men are becoming modern and modern but on the other hand family bondage is damaging. So, we have to be conscious from now to keep up family culture. She thanked to Daffodil International University for organizing this discussion session.
Mr. Mohammad Abu Sadeque presented a paper titled ‘Family and Climate Action: Focus on SDG 13’ on the program and said, there is a relationship between family and climate change. Because families can fall in danger due to climate change. So if we want sustainable development we should develop our family culture.
After their discussion a question answer session was held on the program.
