To prepare the students for the 21st century and to adapt them to the latest ICT friendly education to enhance their knowledge, skills and abilities to fit globally, Daffodil International University (DIU) in association with Daffodil Computers Ltd. distributed 1000 DCL C483 Model Laptop among the students under “One Student-One Laptop” project today on April 29, 2019 at 71Milonayoton of the university. Mr. Md. Rashadul Islam, Additional Secretary, ICT Division of Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology graced the Laptop Distribution Ceremony as the Chief Guest while Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) was present as the special guest and handed over the laptops to the students. Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Trasurer, Daffodil International University presided over the function. The function was addressed by Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director of Student Affairs of the university. Before distributing the Laptops, Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer of the university conducted the oath taking part of the ceremony where the students swore upon regarding the best use of the laptops in academic and education purpose.
The authority of Daffodil International University in association with Daffodil Computers Ltd. has taken this gigantic initiative of “One Student: One Laptop” program which is one step ahead for digital Bangladesh since Summer Semester-2010 and till the date a total of 28000 students received Laptop at free of cost. The Laptop helps the students to equip themselves with proper technical knowledge so that they can survive and secure respectable place in the society. Through this initiative DIU students will get the opportunity to implement digital Bangladesh concept.
Addressing as chief guest Mr. Md. Rashadul Islam said that Daffodil International University is playing the pioneering role to fulfill the dream of present government’s Digital Bangladesh for the last ten years ago. This university is providing the country skilled human resource by educating their graduates with adequate technology oriented knowledge besides academic education to face the challenges of 4th Industrial Revolution. Not only that, Daffodil International University is also preparing its graduates in such a way so that they can contribute accordingly to the development of the country.
Mr. Md. Rashadul Islam also said, laptop is not only an instrument of listening song or enjoying movie but it’s an instrument of connecting globally with skilled ICT knowledge, So he urged the student to prepare themselves keeping fit with the demand of global job market trend, he added. Mr. Md. Rashadul Islam urged the students to be a dreamer and be confident to fulfill the dream. From Bangabandhu to Martin Luther King all of them have big dream and they sacrificed their level best for fulfilling their dream. That’s why we are living in a beautiful global world now. If we want to make our globe more beautiful then we will have to be a big dreamer. e added. He added.
Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain said that laptop is not only a machine, it ‘s also a tool of power. This power belongs to you from now. But, abuse of technology never can bring good things. So, every student should skilled up themselves through proper use of this laptop. Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain showed an old laptop and said to the students, this laptop with me science 1996 which brought lots of achievement in my career. You the students also can reform your life through this DCL laptop which you have got today.
Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain also said, one of the big challenges of Daffodil International University is to make an unemployment free country. To face that challenge, free laptop distribution plays a vital role to eradicate unemployment. Daffodil University believes that by using this laptop student can make themselves as skilled person for future career life.
