Ms. Selima Ahmed,MP addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the ‘SME Diploma Course’ run by Daffodil International University opened jointly by Daffodil International University, Bangladesh Bank Training Academy and Bangladesh Small & Cottage Industry Corporation (BSCIC) with European Union funded project Prism.
Daffodil International University, Bangladesh Bank Training Academy and Bangladesh Small & Cottage Industry Corporation (BSCIC) are jointly going to open the ‘SME Diploma Course’ at Daffodil International University with European Union funded project Prism. The inaugural program of the SME Diploma Course was held today on 9 March, 2019 at Spectra Convention Centre, Gulshan, Dhaka. Ms. Selima Ahmed,MP was present at the inaugural program as the chief guest while Mr. Fazle Kabir, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Mr. Md. Abdul Halim, Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Mr. Manfred Femhoiz, First Secretary, Team Leader, Food Security & Nutrition and Sustainable Development, Delegation of the European Union, Ms. Rokia Afzal Rahman, President, Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs and Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University were present as the special guests. Presided over by Mr. Mostaque Hassan, ndc, Chairman of BSCIC, the program was also addressed by Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, Project Director of Prism Project and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Mr. Ali Sabet, Team Leader of Prism project, Mr. Abu Taher Khan, Director, CDC, Daffodil International University.
While addressing as the chief guest Ms. Selima Ahmed, MP said that we have lot of small entrepreneurs around the country and most of them I have observed closely. I found that they don’t have any business plan, they have no marketing plan, they have no production idea. They have only dream. And they become entrepreneur only depending on their hard working passion. If they get proper training on entrepreneurship they would succeed quickly. This diploma course would make them skill and create an opportunity . She thanked the organizing institutes for opening this course.
Addressing as the special guest Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir said that most of our small entrepreneurs are becoming successful due to their unbelievable hard work. Especially the successes of women entrepreneurs are tremendous. But these entrepreneurs didn’t get any training on entrepreneurship. From now this diploma course will be helpful for them. He thanked Daffodil International University for coming forward to introduce the SME Diploma Course.
It may be mentioned that the duration of this diploma course would be 6 month. H.S.C passed candidate will be eligible to apply for this diploma course.
