Major General Md. Sarwar Hossain, BSP, Military Secretary to the President addressing as the keynote speaker at discussion session on the book titled ‘1971: Resistance, Resilience and Redemption’ on 3rd March, 2019 jointly organized by Career Development Center (CDC) of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Bangladesh Skill Development Institute.

 

Career Development Center (CDC) of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Bangladesh Skill Development Institute jointly organized a discussion session on the book titled ‘1971: Resistance, Resilience and Redemption’ on 3rd March, 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Major General Md. Sarwar Hossain, BSP, Military Secretary to the President was present as keynote speaker at the program. Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer of Daffodil International University presided over the program. Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family, Mr. Abu Taher Khan, Director of CDC, Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Students Affaires) were also present at the program. The program was conducted by Mr. KM Hasan Ripon, Advisor of BSDI.


While discussing as the keynote speaker Major General Md. Sarwar Hossain said that as a nation the most proud history of us is our liberation war.  We will have to go forward following this glorious history, only because, the future path of a nation has to be created depending on the past experience. He expressed thanked Daffodil International University for arranging the program.


Major General Md. Sarwar Hossain also said that he was only 7 years during liberation war that’s why he hadn’t clear memories on most of the events of liberation war. Later on being interested to know the history of liberation war, he found with great concern that there had been no research works and valuable writings on liberation war since 1975 to 1996. Moreover, the perverted history was included in the textbooks at that time. Regarding this situation Major General Md. Sarwar Hossain was inspired and felt the necessity to write a true history on liberation war through which young generation would be able to know the real history of liberation war and his diligence will be success, he added.


While addressing Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman said that there is great allegation against our young generation that they don’t know clearly about the liberation war which is a matter of great regret as a nation.  He urged the students to read more and more books on our Liberation war and know the real birth history of Bangladesh.
It may mentioned that the book ‘1971: Resistance, Resilience and Redemption’ was published in Ekushe Book Fair-2019 from Priomukh Prokashon.
