Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a seminar on ‘Lecture from Industry-Academia’ today on 23 February 2019 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Ms. Shahida Sultana, Deputy Secretary, Access to Information Program (a2i) was present at the seminar as the chief guest. Presided over by Professor Dr. S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Acting Vice Chancellor of DIU the seminar was addressed by Mr. Razib Hasan Majumder, Manager, Datasoft, Mr. Md. Iftekharul Alam, General Manager, SSL Wireless, Mr. Nasif Ahmed, Software Engineer, Infolytx, Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Associate Professor, Department of CSE, Begum Rokeya University and Mr. Shafiul Alam, CEO of Blancer as the keynote speaker. Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain, Head, Department of CSE, DIU was delivered welcome speech in the seminar. The seminar was arranged as a part of ICT Carnival 2019.

While addressing as the chief guest Ms. Shahida Sultana said to the students that you have to choose your career on the basis of your own interest. Because, a person have to spent at least 8-10 hour in the office due to his/her profession. If you have no interest in your official work in that case, you can’t spent 8-10 hour in the office. So, at first you need to emphasis on your interest while choosing a career. Not only that, you should also keep close touch with the latest frequent development of ICT so that you can realize the career opportunity after 10 years, she added.
She also said that we need to change our education system and course curriculum. If we don’t make our syllabus as per demand of our industry, our education wouldn’t help us.
Professor Dr. S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder said that students should gather professional experience from the student life. That’s why they have to do internship and voluntary work in various industry. This kind of seminar will also help them to earn knowledge about professional life and industry demand. he added.
