5-day long ‘10th Oath Taking Ceremony 2019’ for newly enrolled Rovers of Daffodil International University Air Rover Scout Group held today on January 16, 2019 at permanent campus of the university at Ashulia, Savar. The camp includes Training, Oath Taking Ceremony, Social Awareness and Development Program and Grand Camp Fire and would continue up to 19th January. Rafiqul Islam Khan, International Commissioner of Bangladesh Scout was present in the Oath Taking Ceremony as the chief guest. Presided over by Md. Anowar Habib Kazal, Treasurer, DIU Air Rover Scout Group, the Oath Taking Ceremony was also addressed by Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Dean, Permanent Campus, Prof. Dr. Touhid Bhuyan, Head, Department of Software Engineering, Daffodil International University, Girls in Rover Unit Leader Rover Trainer Ms. Farhana Rahman Setu, PRS and RSL Shaiful Islam Khan, DIU Air Rover Scout Group. A total of 90 Rovers and Girls in Rover including 4 Rover Scout Leaders are participating in this Camp. Senior Rover Mate Jui Roy and Nazmul Hassan provided overall assistant to organize the camp.
Addressing as the chief guest International Commissioner of Bangladesh Scout Mr. Rafiqul Islam Khan said, Oath Camp is very important and historical event for a Scout which inspire rovers to engage them in scouting through self adaption of mind. He advised the rovers to maintain and follow the rules and ideas of Baden Powell to mould a moral character and to create a beautiful world. He appreciated the recent activities done by the Rovers of Daffodil International University and suggested to keep up the speed. He also said, introducing Rover Movement at the university, Daffodil International University has set an example to be followed by other private universities.
