The Complaint Committee to Prevent Sexual Harassment of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Bangladesh Mahila Parishad jointly organized a seminar and exchange meeting titled ‘The directives of High Court regarding sexual harassment and prevention’ today on 25 October 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University was present at the program as the Chief Guest while Madam Aysha Khanam, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad was present as the Guest of Honor. Advocate Maksuda Akter, Director, Legal Advocacy and Lobby, Central Committee of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad addressed as the Resource Person in the seminar. Beside this, Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Chairperson, The Complaint Committee to Prevent Sexual Harassment of DIU, Professor Dr. Golam Mawla Choudhury, Controller of Exminations and Proctor of DIU were also present at the program.

Addressing as the chief guest Professor Dr. YousufMahbubul Islam said that different type of people lives in our society. Each people are unique. Our society, state and civilization are built by the contribution of all this people. So if we don’t give women opportunity to contribute in society, the society never build with balance. In the meantime he gave example of bicycle spoke and said, bicycle have many spoke. And all spokes holds the cycle. Society is like that and people are spoke of the society. So society will be balanced when all people will equally contribute in the society.
While addressing on the program Madam AyshaKhanam said, Bangladesh is running forward in a versatile dimension. Education rate, GDP, economic growth is increasing tremendously. Women in our country are showing success in cricket, football, education, journalism to every sector. But against this scenario we also seeing that women are harassed in everyday at roadside, transport, educational institute even family. If we fail to change this scenario, our all development will be failed. She added.
