Dr. Wajuppa Tossa, an international storyteller and Visiting Professor of the Department of English of Daffodil International University  conducting a workshop on “Effective Ways of Storytelling”

 

Dr. Wajuppa Tossa, an international storyteller and Visiting Professor of the Department of English of DIU, conducted a workshop on “Effective Ways of Storytelling” on 10 October 2018 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Room No. 511 of DT.  Dr. Tossa is a retired Professor from Mahasarakham University, Thailand. She is a highly acclaimed storyteller and academician of international reputation. Previously she visited DIU several times and this time she came for a one month visit arranged by the International Affairs of DIU. She was mostly attached with the Department of English where she conducted classes both in the Main Campus at Dhanmondi and in the Permanent Campus at Ashulia. She also conduced classes in the Daffodil Intenational School. Stduents enjoyed her classes very much and learned various techniques of effective presentation and its importance. All the classes she conducted in MC were video recorded for documentation and creating course repository.

The workshop was organized on the final working day of Dr. Tossa. She made a wonderful presentation on the topic through storytelling. Studnets and teachers of the Department of English were present in the workshop which was followed by a formal farewell to Dr. Tossa. Professor AMM Hamidur Rahman, Dean of the Faculy of Humanities and Social Sciences, graced the event and delivered a farwell speech for Dr. Tossa. Professor Dr. Fokhray Hossain, Director of International Affairs, was also present in the program and delivered a speech fitting for the occasion. The guests handedover a crest to Dr. Tossa as a token of love from DIU. Md. Rakibul Hasan Khan, Head (in-charge) of the Department of English delivered the concluding speech through vote of thanks.
