Mr. Mostafa Kamal, Chairman & Managing Director of Meghna Group of Industries delivering his lecture on “Entrepreneurship Development with Hard Work, Patience and Motivation” at 13th Industry-Academia Lecture Series organized by Career Development Center of Daffodil International University.

 

With the aim to inform  and motivate the educated youths of the struggle and challenges faced on route to success by the well known entrepreneurs of the country, 13th  phase of Daffodil International University Industry Academia Lecture Series on Entrepreneurship Development  organized by Career Development Center (CDC) was held today on July 30, 2018 at 71 Milonayoton. Career Development Center (CDC) of the university has taken the initiative where country’s renowned and successful well known Entrepreneurs are taking part in these lecture series gradually in different episode and delivering their success story.  Today’s program was 13th of its continuous endeavor where Mr. Mostafa Kamal, Chairman & Managing Director of Meghna Group of Industries delivered his valuable lecture on “Entrepreneurship Development with Hard Work, Patience and Motivation”. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University delivered the welcome address in the program. The program was also addressed by H. E. Ms. Cho Min-Jeong, Second Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Ms. Tahmina Mostafa, Director, Meghna Group and Elder daughter of Mostafa Kamal, Professor Dr. Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU, Mr. Md. Abu Taher Khan, Director; Career Development Center (CDC). Ms. Beauty Akter, Vice Chairman of Meghna Group of Industries and wife of Mostafa Kamal, Ms. Tanzina Mostafa, Director, Meghna Group of Industries and younger daughter of Mostafa Kamal, Mr. Taif Yousuf, Son-in-Law of Mostafa Kamal, Professor Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer; Professor Dr. A. K. M. Fazlul Hoque, Registrar and country’s renowned industrialists, business leaders, economists, teachers, researchers and elites of the civil society were also present at the program. The program was conducted by Sohag Mia, Co-ordination officer, Employability 360 Degree.

While Addressing as the chief guest Bangladesh is a land of immense  opportunity and Bangladesh will be more developed than Malaysia, Taiwan and Thiland if we can utilize these opportunity properly, Mr. Mostafa Kamal lauds at DIU Industry Academia Lecture Series. Mr. Mostafa Kamal also said that he had been started his business with only Tk. 175, but now the yearly turnover of Meghna Group of Industries is more than 2 billion dollar. The total journey of this success was not smooth. I have to work a lot and I remember once upon a time I was worked more than 18 hours in a day, he added.
Mr. Mostafa Kamal introduced him as a day-labor and said to the students that he feels irritate when he doesn’t have any work in his hand. He likes to sink in the work on whole day. He spends his leisure time through reading books.
Mr. Mostafa Kamal said to the students that everything is in your hand in this technological era. You can read the books of Oxford, Harvard, and Cambridge library in your room if you want.  He urged the students to utilize this opportunity of technology.
While remarking about her proud father Ms. Tahmina Mostafa, Director of Meghnagroup of Industries said that her only inspiration and ideal is her father Mr. Mostafa Kamal. He grew up his children with strong discipline. On that childhood maintaining discipline gave us much pain but now I realize that discipline gave me a successful life.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said in his welcome speech that many universities of developed countries are now including the success history of their successful entrepreneurs in their academic syllabous. But, we don’t have yet that kind of culture and practice in our country. Daffodil International University is trying to execute this culture in Bangladesh and introduce Industry-Academia lecture series as part of this endeavour.
The lectures of these successful entrepreneurs will be compiled and published as a book which will act as a reference book for the students of Business Administration, Economics and Entrepreneurship Development department. These books will help the students to learn and understand their gained academic knowledge in perspective of real life experience. Initiative has been taken to develop individual video documentaries on these successful entrepreneurs from Career Development Center (CDC) of Daffodil International University.
