Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU distributing certificate among the winners of the Round III of DIU Reading Competition 2018
The Round III of DIU Reading Competition 2018 was held at the Banquet Hall of DT of Daffodil International University (DIU) on 3rd June 2018. This competition is arranged regularly at DIU to promote a reading culture among its students.
Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU was present as the chief guest of the program while Professor A M M Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, was present as a special guest. Mr. Rakibul Hasan Khan, Assistant Professor & Head (In-Charge) of English was also present in the program.

A good number of first year students of the Faculty of Business and Economics participated in the competition, and five among them were announced as the winners based on their performance at different tests. The winners were awarded with valuable books and certificates.
In the Reading Competition, the participating students are given a selection of English short stories to read on their own within a fixed number of days. Later, on the competition day, based on an MCQ test and another instant reading activity, the best readers are chosen. So far, three such rounds at different faculties of DIU have been organized. The organizers have plans to arrange a grand finale among the winners from all faculties at the last round of this competition.
