Maksudur Rahman, Country Director, Bangladesh, USAID Feed the Future Asia innovative Farmers Projects and Mr. Golam Monowar Kamal, Managing Director of Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd exchanging documents at the MoU signing ceremony held today on June 4, 2018 between Winrock International and Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd (BVCL) at the conference room of Daffodil International University.
Winrock International and Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd (BVCL) have agreed to improve the identification and scale-up of agricultural technologies in Bangladesh. To achieve this common goal both the organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today on 4 June 2018 at the conference room of Daffodil International University. Md. Maksudur Rahman, Country Director, Bangladesh, USAID Feed the Future Asia innovative Farmers Projects and Mr. Golam Monowar Kamal, Managing Director of Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective organization. Mr. Mohammad Shibli Shahriar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Entrepreneurship, Mr. Rashedul Islam, Coordinator of Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd and Mr. Abu Saleh Md. Saiful, Senior Program Officer, USAID were also present at the MoU signing ceremony program.
According to the agreement, Winrock International will introduce prospective start-ups and small business in the technology sector to BVCL for investment. Beside this it will participate in communications to international donors and funding agencies about activities under this MoU. Winrock International and BVCL will jointly establish a process to expand business that will work domestically and regionally through engage in dialogue and information sharing. On the other hand Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd will conduct and coordinate business due diligence on potential start-ups and small business. It will also create and open innovation and research platform for food and nutrition industries in Bangladesh.
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd is a company which helps Start- Ups to open new entrepreneurs through investment and other infrastructural accommodation. Winrock International is an USAID Feed the Future Asia innovative Farmers Projects.
