As a part of continuous endeavor of good quality education, Civil Engineering Department of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a seminar on "Grape vs. Orange and Fruit Basket: An inside story to reach out students" on May 27, 2018, at main campus of the university. Dr. Iftekhar A. Khan, Assistant Professor, IAT, BUET was present as keynote speaker in the seminar.
Dr. Miah Md. Husainuzzanman, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering presided over the seminar. Professor Md. Khairul Enam, Head of the Department of Architecture, Mr. Md. Dara Abdus Sattar, Associate Head of Department of Electrical&Electronic Engineering, Mr. Md. Taslim Arefin, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Electrical &Telecommunication Engineering, Dr. Md. Mahbubul Haque, Professor & Head of Department of Textile Engineering were present along with other faculty members from faculty of engineering.
While delivering keynote speech Dr. Iftekhar A. Khan described the importance of objective oriented teaching in tertiary level. He suggested a system, where the boundaries of the chapters will be invisible to the students. They will be given a target and through the whole semester they will learn to reach that target. This will ensure their active engagement in the classes and also will enable them to see the big picture.
In the questionnaire section, faculty members asked questions and Dr. Iftekhar answered them promptly. It was understood that, we should try to improve ourselves to ensure OEB, that is, Objective Oriented Learning.
