The Department of Public Health organized a Workshop entitled “Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Health Program” held on 27 May, 2018 in the Digital Class Room, Department of Public Health, Daffodil Tower, DIU. Thirty two (32) foreign students attended the workshop. Dr. Md. Lutfar Rahman, Advisor, Hospital Management & Quality Assurance and Accreditation Program (HMQAAP), Jahurul Islam Medical College Hospital, Kishoregonj, Bangladesh, and former Program Manager, Quality Assurance Cell of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Dr. Md. Fazlul Hoque (MPH alumni of DIU), Former Additional Secretary, Ministry of Science & Information Technology, Government of Bangladesh and Prof. Dr. Harun-Ar-Rashid, Head, Department of Public Health, Daffodil International University were present as resource persons.

Dr. Md. Lutfar Rahman highlighted tools for monitoring, relationship and differences between monitoring and evaluation. Dr. Md. Fazlul Hoque talked on “Evaluation of Public Health Program” and discussed on various issues related to evaluation. Prof. Dr. Harun-Ar-Rashid, discussed on “Monitoring and Evaluation of Research Component of Public Health Program”. He presented nuances of monitoring and evaluation of research program. Professor Rashid concluded the session. In his concluding remarks he appreciated the involvement of renowned professionals as resource persons for the Workshop. He thanked the trainees for their active participation in the Workshop. At the end certificates were awarded to the participants. The Workshop was coordinated by Dr. ABM Alauddin Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health.
