Newly enrolled students along with Professor Dr. Ahmed Ismail Mostafa ,Dean, FAHS; Head and other Faculty Members of the Department of Public Health at the orientation program of Summer 2018.
The Department of Public Health of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized an Orientation Program for the newly enrolled Master of Public Health (MPH) students of Summer-2018 Semester on May 18, 2018 at Banquet Hall of the university. Professor Dr. Ahmad Ismail Mustafa , Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS), was present as the Chief Guest at the Orientation Program. The program was chaired by Dr. Harun-Ar- Rashid, Professor and the Head of the Department of Public Health. All the Faculty Members of the Department were present in the Orientation Program.
The Orientation Program was attended by 40 newly enrolled students, among them there were 5 foreign students. Professor Dr. Ahmad Ismail Mustafa, Dean of the FAHS emphasized on the current growing demand and prospects of Public Health and urged the new students to acquire required skill to face enormous challenges of global health arena. Professor Dr. Mustafa assured the students all sorts of co-operation during their study in the Department of Public Health.
Professor Dr. Rashid presented the guidelines for academic activities of the Department. He highlighted the issues like time management, class attendance, advising and counseling, major subject selection, rules & regulations of examination, research proposal development, proposal defense, thesis defense, ethical conducts etc. Dr. ABM Alauddin Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health discussed the digital technologies used in the Department like Google Classroom, Google Moodle and Student Portal. The program was ended with concluding remarks from the Head of the Department.
