A discussion session titled ‘Career Prospects in Journalism and Mass Communication’ jointly organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and DIU Communication Club held on 20 March 21, 2018 at 52 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University. Presided over by Dr. Saleem Ahmed, Head, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Professor Dr. Golam Rahman, Former Chief Information Commissioner & Pro VC of DIU , Professor Dr. Sakhawat Ali Khan, Advisor, Department of JMC, DIU, Mr. Rizwanul Alam, Director of Communication, TIB, Mr. Monjurul Islam, CEO of DBC Television and Mr. Tushar Abdullah, CNE of Somoy Television were present at the program as speaker. Mr. Sheikh Mohammad Shafiul Islam, Associate Professor of JMC and Dr. Towfique E Elahi, Assistant Professor of JMC were also speaks at the program.
Professor Dr. Golam Rahman said that job never canbe found if you don't always try to find it. For job, you have to prepare yourself. Career is a thing that nobody can help to build your career. So prepare yourself for job and job will ultimately catch in your hand. He also said, there are lots of opportunities for Journalism and Mass Communication students to build career like, electronic media, print media, online media, communication sectors, corporate offices. in advertising agencies. So JMC students can build career there.

Professor Dr. Sakhawat Ali Khan said, communication is a randomly changeable matter. That is for one should update himself. Seeing we live in an age of information technology, so we have to update us about it. JMC students can build their career on NGO sector.
Mr. Rizwanul Alam said, communication is a tool of management. Organizational success depends on this communication department. That is why Bank, Insurance and many other organizations are opening their communication department.
Mr. Monjurul Islam said, three things are very important to success in career life. One is to build personality, second is to update yourself and another is to absorbed technological knowledge.
Mr. Tushar Abdullah said, students should involve into cultural organization beside their class room. They have to make interaction with other people. They have to learn that how to make a relation. And they have to learn to understand the human mentality.
