Under the IQAC-ENGLISH Quantity Enhancement series, a workshop was organizedat the Digital Classroom of Daffodil Tower on 13 March 2018. The title of the workshop was “Teaching English Language at The Tertiary Level: Best Practices in Bangladesh”. The renowned ELT specialist of BangladeshProf. Dr.Arifa Rahman was presentin the workshop as the facilitator.
The workshop began with a warm welcome speech by Prof. A.M.M. Hamidur Rahman, Dean, FHSS. The inauguration session ended with handing over thecrest and a flower bouquet tothe facilitator.
In her two hour longsessionthe facilitatorinteracted with the participants and provided valuable guidelines on the best ELT techniques and practices that are effective in the context of tertiary level education in Bangladesh. She also emphasized on the multiple aspects of blended learning.
A good number of faculty members and students of English department from different universities were present to be enlightened with the knowledge and directions provided by the resource person. The workshop ended with a light refreshment after the vote of thanks given by Mr. Md. RakibulHasan Khan, Asst. Professor and Head of the department of English.
