The English Speaking Union of Bangladesh organized ''International Public Speaking Competition-2018'' on 3 March 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University. Afra Nawar, a student of Bangladesh International School & College became champion while Ahmad Tazwar Rafid, student of Jhinedah Cadet College became runner-up in the national level competition. Becoming champion in national level, Afra Nawar will get the opportunity to compete in ''International Public Speaking Competition’ final round which will be held in London, UK.
Mr. Mohammad Zamir, Formerly Chief Information Commissioner and Ambassador was present at the program as chief Guest while Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University and Mr. Syed Waseque Md. Ali, Managing Director and CEO of First security Islami Bank graced the occasion as special guests. Mr. Asif A Chowdhury, Chairperson of English Speaking Union of Bangladesh presided over the program.
Addressing as chief guest Mr. Mohammad Zamir said, great artists have no border. They are global. Like Khana. This intelligent lady spread out her merit throughout the whole Indian subcontinent. She is prominent her saying till now. John Milton is also like that, he added. He urged the students to learn third language beside Bangla which will help them to spread out their talent around the world.
