Senior IELTS expert Ms. Batool Sarwar conducting workshop on IELTS writing jointly organized by Daffodil Institute of Languages (DIL), in collaboration with IDP at 71Milonayoton of Daffodil International University.
Daffodil Institute of Languages (DIL), in collaboration with IDP, organized a workshop on IELTS writing on 27 November 2017 at 71Milonayoton of Daffodil Tower, Sobhanbag campus of Daffodil International University. In the workshop, senior IELTS expert Ms. Batool Sarwar elaborated on the writing test techniques and answered to different questions asked by the audience.
The facilitator particularly focused on academic writing tasks 1 and 2 with adequate examples. She explained four criteria of assessment—task achievement/response, coherence and cohesion, lexical resource and grammatical range and accuracy, with special reference to band descriptors. In the second segment of the workshop, Mr. Mohammed Mehrab, Assistant IELTS Operation Manager, talked on how to score better in listening, speaking and reading. He said that for higher score (7+) one has to take long time preparation with regular reading and listening practice. He advised to watch documentaries in English on YouTube and TV channels for improving listening skill.
Distinguished gusts at the IDP: IELTS Writing Workshop
Dr. Mark James Bartholomew, Advisor (Quality Assurance, DIU, Dr. Binoy Barman, Director, DIL, Mr. Simon Monsoor, IELTS Operation Manager Bangladesh, Ms. Elora Shahab, IELTS Administrator, were present in the workshop, which was also attended by a good number of students and teachers from DIU and outside. The Director of DIL revealed that the workshop will be followed up by similar programs focusing on other language skills relating to IELTS.
