Prof. Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU along with other distinguished guests at the inaugural ceremony of workshop on "Getting published in Indexed academic and scientific Journals: How to do it?" organized by Real Estate Department of Daffodil International University.
With the aim of introducing researchers in Bangladesh to the ways in which they can organise their research papers to publish research output and raising the high visibility, the Department of Real Estate and Research Center of Daffodil International University (DIU) in Dhaka have jointly organised a master class workshop on "Getting published in Indexed academic and scientific Journals: How to do it?" on 19th November 2017 at Banquet Hall of the university.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. P.R. Datta, Executive Chair-Academy of Business and Retail Management Research and Editor-in-chief, Journal of Business and Retails Management Research-A SCOPUS Indexed and SCIMAGO Ranked Journal which has substantial following throughout the world. Prof. Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU inaugurated workshop as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro-Vice Chancellor, DIU was present as the special guest. Prof. Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics and Prof. Dr. Md. Kabirul Islam, Director of Research of DIU were present as the guests of honor. The workshop was chaired by Mr. Sheikh Abdur Rahim, Head, Department of Real Estate of DIU.
The workshop was attended by over 50 senior academics from 13 both public and private Universities in Bangladesh.
Prof. Dr. Islam, Vice Chancellor of the University said "In the age of Globalisation we all need to raise our sights and think global. We at the Daffodil International University believe that it is more important than ever that research from Bangladeshi academics reaches an international audience. True scholarly endeavour always rises about ideology and international politics. Bangladesh has much to teach the world, and I feel privileged to have witnessed first-hand the desire to expand human knowledge and enquiry.”
Pro-Vice Chancellor of DIU Prof. Dr. Nahabub Ul- Haque Majumder explained the research agenda has been taken by DIU in his inauguration address. It is important that Higher Education Institutions are more proactive to undertake serious scholarly endeavours as progress and prosperity of the society is depend on research and managerial excellence. He clearly laid out the research requirements of the faculty at DIU. Currently, all DIU faculty needs to publish at least one research output in indexed and recognised Journal, he added.
The workshop lasts three hours and founded on a powerful trinity: Method, Integrity and Camaraderie. In concluding remarks Prof. Rahim asserted that the research Centre at DIU founded which aim to stimulate curiosity, to inspire and develop future generations of scholars, policy makers and practitioners, and to encourage a greater appreciation of the social, economic and cultural value of diverse areas of academic research.
While conducting the workshop Dr. P.R. Datta urged the participants to come forward with their thoughts and innovative ideas for writing more and more articles to enrich higher education in Bangladesh. He stressed that this is the time for Bangladeshi Higher Educational institutions to emphasize on research works to be prepared for the future.
