Boseiwaqa Taginavulau, Director General, CIRDAP exchanging documents of MoU on “Activity Project Proposal” to fabricate a Multi-Commodity Solar Tunnel Dryer (MCSTD). Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yousuf M Islam and other high officials of Daffodil International University were present at the signing ceremony.
An agreement signed between Daffodil International University (DIU) and Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) on 23November 2017 at Conference Room of the university. Professor Dr. Engr. A. K. M. Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, DIU and Mr. Tevita G. Boseiwaqa Taginavulau, Director General, CIRDAP signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions on “Activity Project Proposal” to fabricate a Multi-Commodity Solar Tunnel Dryer (MCSTD). Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU, Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer, Professor Dr. Ahmad Ismail Mustafa, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Professor Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business & Economics, Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director, International Affairs, Mr. Abu Taher Khan, Director, Career Development Center, Professor Dr Md. Bellal Hossain, Head, Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering (NFE) of Daffodil International University were also present at the agreement signing ceremony.
According to this agreement, DIU is going to fabricate a Multi-Commodity Solar Tunnel Dryer (MCSTD) in the permanent campus through collaboration with CIRDAP under Department of NFE for facilitating practical knowledge of the students of NFE as well as sustainable way of introducing capacity development designed to give the women food processors a holistic understanding on entrepreneurship that will increase productivity, income and create more jobs at the rural areas. The MCSTD was developed by the Philippine Center for Post Harvest Development and Mechanization (PHILMech) under the Department of Agriculture, Central Luzon State University Compound, Philippines. This project will be implemented by Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, Assistant Professor, NFE and Mr. A. K. M. Sarwar Inam Assistant Professor, NFE on January 2018.
