Liberation War Affairs Minister A K M Mozammel Huq addressing as the chief guest at the screening and discussion program of the documentary film অচ্ছুৎ -‘The untouchables’ made by the students of Journalism and Mass Communication of Daffodil International University held at 71 Milonayoton.
The documentary film অচ্ছুৎ -‘The untouchables’ made by the students of Journalism and Mass Communication of Daffodil International University is competing at the Film Festival titled “ We are in favour of Peace” organized by University of California.
12 minutes length documentary uphold the history of great sacrifice and contribution of ‘Horizon’ community at our great Liberation War in 1971. Many of them were martyred and sacrificed a lot during our Liberation War, But, as they were belong to ‘Horizon’ community, so they didn’t get recognition of their great sacrifice as the “Freedom Fighter” or any national level recognition. As like as they are untouchable.
The documentary film was directed by Saydur Rahaman, a student of Journamlism and Mass Communication department of Daffodil International University and was mentored by Lecturer Aftab Hossain of the same department.

The documentary was screened and a discussion on film অচ্ছুৎ -‘The untouchables’ was held on October 24, 2017 at 71 Milonayoton of the university where Liberation War Affairs Minister A K M Mozammel Huq was present as the chief guest while Julhas Alam, Beauro Chief of Asociated Press (AP) was present as the special guest. Presided over by by Professor Dr. Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, the program was also addressed by Professor A M M Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Professor Dr. Sakhawat Ali Khan, Advisor, Associate Professor Sheikh Shafiul Islam , Saleem Ahmed, Head, Aftab Hossain, Lecturer, department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Daffodil International University.
Addressing as the chief guest Liberation War Affairs Minister A K M Mozammel Huq said, the most neglected and ignored people are these ‘horizon’ community whom do we usually avoid. A very few people like to sit or mix together with the people of this community. Minister urged all to avoid this mentality.
Government initiative will be taken to recognize the contribution of this community reflected in the documentary film অচ্ছুৎ -‘The untouchables’, he added.
He also said, an initiative will be taken on behalf of the ministry how to enrich the documentary and how to bring national and international recognition of the great sacrifice and contribution of ‘Horizon’ community’s as well as ‘Mass Peoples’ contribution during the War of Our Liberation in 1971.
