6th BELTA National Conference 2017 was held from October, 20-21 2017, at Daffodil International University (DIU) hosted by Department of English of DIU and sponsored by American Center, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The theme of the conference of this year was “The Use of Technology in ELT”. Nearly 300 English language teachers of different levels from all over Bangladesh attended the two day conference. In all, there were fifty presentations, papers and workshops. There were eight presentations from faculty members of Department of English, DIU including a plenary presentation by Professor A.M.M. Hamidur Rahman, Advisor, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on “Using Web Resources For Developing Language Skills”. There was a workshop titled “Make Your Own Language Teaching Stack Using Live Code” conducted for the first time in Bangladesh by DIU Live Code Team. Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU graced the inauguration ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Kelly R Ryan, Cultural Affairs Officer, American Center, Dhaka was present as the Special Guest. Mr. Harunur Rashid Khan, Chair, Department of English of  Southeast University, and President, BELTA, presided over the ceremony. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Dennis Yang, Regional English Language Officer, U.S. Embassy, Nepal. The conference ended with a Panel Discussion emphasizing on the need for using technology in English Language Teaching.
