Country’s renowned Architect and Urban Designer & Planner Mr. Md. Masudul Islam addressing as the keynote speaker at the workshop on ‘Smart City-Good City-Our City’ held today at Daffodil International University.

 

 

Daffodil International University (DIU) and Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, Bangladesh (FNF, Bangladesh) jointly organized a Workshop on ‘Smart City-Good City-Our City’ today (Thursday) on 20 July 2017 at Auditorium-71 of DIU. Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer, DIU inaugurated the workshop while country’s renowned Architect and Urban Designer & Planner Mr. Md. Masudul Islam, who is currently working in urban projects in Bangladesh and Hong Kong was the keynote speaker and conducted the workshop. The inauguration session of the workshop was addressed by Professor Dr. Nazmul Hossain, Country Representative, Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, Bangladesh (FNF, Bangladesh), Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director of Students Affairs, Sheikh Mohammad Rizwan, Senior Lecturer, Department of Architecture. Around 300 students participated in the workshop.
While presenting the keynote paper Md. Masudul Islam said, now a day’s technological change has been changing our life style radically and technology based city is known as smart city like Singapore, Hongkong, Dubai, Koria etc.
He also said that if we build up a smart city, we must have to take massive initiatives like: planning about smart transport, wide footpath, tree plantation etc. We will have to also consider about geographical aspects as because the weather of Europe, America and Middle East is not similar to us.
