Distinguished guests along with the winners of DIU Apps Contest 2017 pose for a photo session
2 day long ‘DIU APP Contest-2017’ completed today at Daffodil International University held from May 19-20, 2017 at the Auditorium-71 of Daffodil International University. 33 team comprising 103 members from different public and private universities took part in the completion. The closing and prize giving ceremony of this contest was held today on May 20, 2017 at Auditorium 71 of Daffodil International Universities. 13 teams won the prizes of Championship, 1st Runner up and 2nd Runner up trophy in 5 categories. Beside this two other teams received special prize.
In the contest Daffodil International University team BITCODE wins Champion Trophy in Agriculture category and team of BUET Tropical Pixels wins 1st Runners up. Team of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) Hack Slash wins Champion Trophy in Business category and Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) team Valyrian Steeler began 1st Runners up while Khulna University team KU Coffe Coders began 2nd Runners up. Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) team Mist Roomates began Champion in Law category while Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) team Sust Hexacore began 1st Runners up and Daffodil International University (DIU) team Think Different began 2nd Runners up. Team of American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB) Team Pirates began Champion in Education Category. In Health Category Daffodil International University (DIU) team SWE Health Care wins Champion Trophy while 1st Runners up began North South University (NSU) team Team Spark and 2nd Runners up began jointly Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) team Andree and International University of Bangladesh (IUB) team ‘Team IUB’. Beside this Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology and Daffodil International University wins special prize in people’s choice category.
Mr. Mahbub Zaman, Chairman, Data Soft Ltd. was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the contest and distributed prizes among the winners. Ms. Mehnaz Kabir, Chief Marketing & Communication Officer, Rangs Group was present at the program as the Special Guest. Mr. Takayoshi Suzuki, Representative, Oriental System, Japan and Mr. Hasan Rahman Ratan, Technology Director, Data Soft Ltd. were also present as Guest of Honor. Presiuded over by Prof. Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain, Head Dept of CSE, DIU, the function was also addressed by Dr. Touhid Bhuiyan, Head, Dept. of Software Engineering DIU and convener of the contest.
Addressing as Chief Guest Mr. Mahbub Zaman said that you have to invent app for business purpose not only to attend an app contest or to getting scholarship in foreign countries. At a time he said, there are media partner, sponsor organization and so other organizations cooperate in the app contest but there is no Enterprise partner. If organizers feel agree then Data soft will be the Enterprise partner in future.
Address Special Guest Ms. Mehnaz Kabir said that merit of your innovation have to spread in the world and your innovation have reach among mass people. For that you have to do hard work.
Delivering to presidential address Prof. Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain said that young people of Bangladesh is too much meritorious. Bangladesh will be digital by the contribution of this young generation.
