Mr. Hasan Mahmud, MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Bangladesh Parliament addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the Week-long ‘BISK Club-DIUDC National Debate Fest-2017 powered by BRB Cables’.

Week-long ‘BISK Club-DIUDC National Debate Fest-2017 powered by BRB Cables’ has begun at Auditorium-71 of Daffodil International University today on May 18, 2017. Mr. Hasan Mahmud, MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Bangladesh Parliament inaugurated the festival as the chief guest. Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer, DIU, and Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Rony, Head of Marketing, BRB Cables were present as special guests. The program was presided over by Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University. The inaugural ceremony was addressed by Emeritus Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Professor A. M.M. Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Science, Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director, Student Affairs’, Dr. Touhid Bhuiyan, Head, Dept of Software Engineering (SWE) and Mr. Mahbub Parvez, Head, Dept of Tourism & Hospitality Management and Moderator, DIUDC and Md. Rashedul Islam, President, DIU DC. 

Addressing as the chief guest Mr. Hasan Mahmud said that subject matter of the debate program should be emphasized and based on the liberation war and its spirit, because we want to build a liberation motivated generation. If we want to develop patriotism among our young generation then we have to increase the habit of debate culture. To uphold the true history of Liberation war among the young generation, he urged the organizers to arrange story telling party about liberation war regularly participated by the freedom fighters besides debating regularly as after 20-25 years no freedom fighter would alive to know the real history of our Liberation War.
In his presidential address Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam said that debate teaches us lot about life. Debate teaches us on tolerance, increase our knowledge and sharpen our wisdom.
16 Schools, 16 Colleges and 32 Universities are participating in the week long national debate festval.
