As part of their course curriculum, students of the Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering of Daffodil International University made an industrial tour to Akij Food and Beverage Ltd. (AFBL) to visit the various plants and units of the Industry located at Krishnapura, Dhamrai, Dhaka; on 10 April, 2017 under the guidance of Mr. A K M Sarwar Inam, Asst. Professor and Ms. Effat Ara Jahan, Lecturer, Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering in response to the invitation of the authority of AFBL. The goal of the trip was to enlighten students about the modern food processing and preservation technique and in the development of new product. The DIU team consisted of 60 students from three consecutive batches of the NFE department along with Dr. Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Asst. Professor of NFE Department and Mr. S.M. Ayenul Islam, Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance, Akij Food and Beverage Ltd. facilitated the program also delivered very important speech.

The authority of the Industry arranged a discussion session between students and higher management of the Industry and was very much glad to entertain the team with variety of their special food items. The AFBL authority also showed keen interest to provide jobs and internship opportunities in future.

Another group of students of the Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering of Daffodil International University made an industrial tour to Bangladesh Milk Producer's Co-Operative Union Ltd. (MILK VITA) to visit the various plants and units of the Industry located at Mirpur, Dhaka; on 8 April, 2017 under the guidance of Mr. A K M Sarwar Inam, Asst. Professor and Ms. Najia Kamrul, Lecturer, Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering in response to the invitation of the authority of Milk Vita. The goal of the trip was to enlighten students about the milk processing and preservation technique and the development of new product. The DIU team consisted of 40 students from two consecutive batches of the NFE department.


Mr. S.M. Khosbul Alam, Assistant Manager, Production, and Md. Abdul Wahid, Assistant Manager, Quality Control, Bangladesh Milk Producer's Co-Operative Union Ltd. facilitated the program and also delivered very important speech. The authority of Milk Vita, was very much glad to entertain the team with variety of their special dairy items and showed keen interest to provide jobs and internship opportunities to our students in future.
