Daffodil International University launched the 1st DIU Social Business Design Lab under Social Business Centre of Daffodil International University. The Design Lab was inaugurated by Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees of DIU today on 31st January 2017 at Daffodil Business Incubation Building.
While inaugurating Mr. Md. Sabur Khan said, Dr. Yunus’s invention ‘‘Social Business Centre’’ is conducted 34 country all over the world where in Bangladesh Social Business Centre is conducted only one and that is in Daffodil International University. It’s our great pleasure that, a new organization named Social Business Design Lab has started its journey from today under Social Business Centre of Daffodil International University.
Three new business plans named Doyal Garments, Rickshaw Service and Entrepreneurs 360 business plans from Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, and Dhaka were displayed in the design lab during inauguration. All business plans were presented and discussed in detail and referred in groups for further review. Two projects were approved for funding by reviewers and experts. The businesses will be joint ventures between the business owner and the social business fund provider. Their progress will be monitored by Uddyakta Monitoring System (UMS).

Zaid Uddin, Assistant Program Officer, Yunus Centre, Mr. Masud Ibn Rahman, Associate Professor & Head, Social Business Centre, DIU moderated the Social Business Design Lab.
