Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Honorable Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University addressing at the ToT program as Special Invitee
With an aim to educate the new and young faculty members regarding pedagogy, bloom’s taxonomy, ILO, providing student centric education, encouraging in research activities, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized 2-day long Training of Trainers (ToT) on Pedagogy, Bloom’s Taxonomy, ILO, Lesson plan and Student Centric Education, Investigative Study both Qualitative and Quantitative during 29 and 31 December, 2016 at the Digital Classroom of Business School of the University.
Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Honorable Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Daffodil International University and Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Emeritus Professor of the University were present the inaugural session of the ToT as Special Invitee and Special Guest respectively. Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Director, IQAC, DIU chaired the session while Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Additional Director, IQAC, DIU offered the vote of thanks at the session.
Three more working sessions were held in the first day of the ToT. The session on Teaching Learning and Lesson Plan was facilitated by Professor Dr. Ahmad Ismail Mustafa, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Science, DIU and Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Director, IQAC, DIU. Another session on Research and Intended Learning Outcome (ILO) was facilitated by Dr. Mohammed Shafikur Rahman, Department of Pharmacy; Ms. Liza Sharmin, Associate Professor, Department of English and Mr. Md. Khaled Sohel, Assistant Professor, Department of Software Engineering of the university respectively. The last session of the first day on Quality assurance at Higher education with Class Auditing and PEER REVIEW was facilitated by Hafiz T.A. Khan, PhD, Reader, Birmingham City University, United Kingdom.
The second day of the ToT continued the last session of first day which was facilitated by Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Additional Director, IQAC and Ms. Liza Sharmin, Associate Professor, Department of English. Another working session on Pedagogy, Quality Assurance (QA) System and Investigative Research was facilitated by Dr. Amir Ahmed, Senior Research Associate of EnviroWater, Sydney, Australia; Md. Ali Imran, Assistant Professor &Head, Department of Commerce, DIU; Dr. Md. Kamrul Hossain, Assistant Professor, Department of Natural Sciences, Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Director, IQAC, DIU respectively.
The closing session of the ToT was graced by Professor Dr. Mohammad Zia-ul Hoque, World Business Institute (WBI), Australia as Chief Guest while Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Biswas, Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology was present as Special Guest. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU. Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Director, IQAC, DIU offered vote of thanks at the program.
During the 2-day training, the participants gathered knowledge and experience regarding Research as a Knowledge Generation Method, Teaching Learning Parameter with the use of Bloom’s Taxonomy, Ways of formulating effective Lesson Plan and developing well-structured class, OBTL and Preparing Creative Questions; Defining and Exercising Intended Learning Outcome (ILO), Quality assurance at Higher education with Class Auditing and PEER REVIEW, Assessment process including Examinations, Continuous Assessment Process, Fairness, Plagiarism free assignment and Covering Full Syllabus and Maintenance of Course Diary, Student Centric Teaching Method focusing Innovation and PEER Review Process, The psychology of teaching and learning and some innovative approaches, Pedagogy: A Critical Approach to Teaching Learning, Research for student development and engagement and extension, Quality Assurance of DIU and its internationalization, etc.
The whole training program was coordinated by Ms. Liza Sharmin, Associate Professor, Department of English, Daffodil International University. Around fifty new and young faculty members of DIU participated in the training.
